, , ,One of American democracy’s bragging points is the freedom of religion and the constitutional principle of the separation of church and state, the existence of a wall between the operations of government and the operations of religious institutions. One does not regulate or interfere with the doctrine, rules, laws, or operations of the other. I agree with most of it, but I think trying to stop church meetings is counter-productive. The stay-at-home orders are only serving suggestions anyway. You can still go to the grocery store or the PO or the pharmacy or to visit your friend and say you’re going to the pharmacy. So if a church wants to defy the order and meet, don’t make heros out of these guys by arresting them and charging them with a misdemeanor.
