President traveled to Pennsylvania on Monday to stand in front of Air Force One and speak to a fired-up crowd of supporters. Some of his time onstage was spent hammering talking points, like immigration (“We don’t want people coming up here! Our country is full!”); the rest was s...

Political Agenda

I agree with most of the points, but the author approaches all data with a blatant anti-Trump bias. An article without the bias, more focused on fact, would make a better read for all parties.

I struggled between calling this an opinion piece vs political agenda. The author does cite specific quotes from Trump’s speech and other facts, but the tone feels overly dramatic for a true news piece. I also think some of the conclusions, such as Trump actually finding a way to serve more than two terms are a stretch. While I lean toward the left and am emotionally drawn to the author’s perspective, I can’t honestly call this a true news story.

Misused Term

The article states that Trump "joked about shooting immigrants" which isn't really true. Someone in the crowd suggested immigrants should be shot (as a way of dealing with immigration issues) and Trump chuckled. Although Trump's response was despicable, it was not he that "made a joke." Trump is bad enough, no need to go out of your way to make him look bad.

Many of the "concerns" this author has, and some of the Democrats quoted within the article, have been sensationalized. It was clear the author was making false attributions towards Trump to fit the headline and picture of authoritarianism, including saying Trump wanted to shoot immigrants, Trump saying he could stay for a 3rd, 4th, and 5th term, and others. I ended up labeling this as Political Bias and not Sensational because the author made it clear which side he was on.

The use of Terrifying and Authoritarianism in a headline shows that it is an opinion piece and not a news article.

It is not right that rolling stone is 40 years behind trump. Trump is playing his newest version of 2020 'game theory', while rolling stone is playing their same tune structure from about the reagon era. Get with it rolling stone. The game play is the important point. Poker is won by the game face not the cards. And cheating counts now.

Pennsylvania is still traumatized by the Amish. They are appalled by the prospect of immigration from New Jersey and Ohio.
