Steve Cohen of Tennessee is getting plenty of air time of late from the liberal friendlies at CNN.Perhaps that’s because he’s got the smear machine working in overdrive and on overtime.Recall it was just the other day that Cohen, against the backdrop of the big military build-up in Washington ahead of Joe Biden’s inauguration, accused white soldiers serving in the National Guard of being racists.He also said these Guardsmen needed to be racially profiled as potential assassins.On Monday, Cohen then took a nasty swipe a freshman Rep. Lauren Boebert, a Colorado Republican who has made a splash during her brief time in D.C. because of her unapologetic stance on gun rights.Cohen told CNN that Boebert had likely given tours of the U.S. Capitol to demonstrators who violently rushed the building on Jan 6, as Congress certified the presidential election results.The tragic riot ended with five people dead.“Only thing that I’ve seen,” Cohen said, “Congressman (John) Yarmuth (D-Ky.) refreshed my recollection yesterday. We saw Boebert taking a group of people for a tour sometime after the 3rd and before the 6th.”“I don’t remember the day we were walking in a tunnel and we saw her and commented who she was and she had a large group with her. Now whether these people were people that were involved in the insurrection or not, I do not know,” Cohen added.He continued, “She was a freshman, she might have had a large number of people coming to be with her on this historic occasion and just wanting to give them the opportunity to have a tour. But it is pretty clear that her team is the team — she’s not on the home team. She was with the visitors.”CNN noted that Democratic Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney of New York had made similar allegations about Boebert.Boebert returned fire.“Today @RepCohen went on CNN and spread lies about me to further a left-wing conspiracy theory targeting me and my family. The only people I have ever had in the Capitol with me are my children, husband, mom, aunt, and uncle. I guess having a big family is a scandal now,” she tweeted Monday night.“All claims of my involvement with the attack on Jan. 6th are categorically false,” Boebert added. “These lies are irresponsible & dangerous. The left would like to bog my name down in conspiracies because they want to slow down my work for the people of CO-03. I will continue on regardless.”Alabama GOP Rep. Mo Brooks defended Boebert, tweeting that Cohen and “other Socialists should prove their wild, off-the-wall, panicky statements . . . Or apologize. Proof is simple. What do Capitol security cameras show? Where is news media? If a Republican had said the same about a Democrat….”They called us crazy for worrying about child sex-slaves. Then they elected Pedo-Joe to the Oval Office.They called us stupid for questioning the election. Then the courts refused to prove the votes were legitimate.They called us Nazis for waving the American flag. Then they punched out the smile of a black man holding a free-speech rally.They called us fascists for voting for Trump. Then they censored his pleas for peace on social media.They called us racists for building a border wall. Then they condemned minorities who showed too much “whiteness”.They called us paranoid for protecting our guns. Then they wrote an 11-page-long campaign promise to destroy gun rights.They called us sickening for not wearing masks in the park. Then they took their masks off to spit upon the Constitution.They called us traitors for protesting at the Capitol.
