The San Francisco Giants are preparing to begin their season today and a week before their home opener at Oracle Park the team has issued a statement on how fans will be welcomed back for the 2021 season.Welcome Home, fans! Full Release: — SFGiants (@SFGiants)The team is allowed to have the park at 22% capacity, ~9,000 fans, per game for now and all attendees over the age of 12 will be required to take a COVID-19 test with negative results or provide proof of a full COVID-19 vaccination, in order to gain entry.Test results need to be received within 72 hours of the first game that they plan to attend of a homestand. Fans can present their negative Covid tests two ways: Fans 18+ can link their negative test through to quickly gain entry, or bring an electronic/paper copy of their vaccination card. The Giants are working with Dignity Health to provide quick & easy testing for fans.Fans will be separated into 9 socially distant pods around the ballpark & are not allowed to gather before, or after games. These protocols will remain in place for at least the first homestand (April 9 - 14) and could "evolve" as local restrictions change. See the full guidelines .Meanwhile, the Oakland Athletics will & will also have fans seated in socially-distanced pods. There's currently no testing, or vaccination requirements to attend an A's game this season.
