Credible: I did not see a single assertion that I thought slipped in a falsehood or half-truth. Trust in the article: the article mentions that the IRS info they disclosed, is among our government's most zealously-guarded secrets. This is partly that our nation has agreed everyone should pay a “fair” share, but gives individuals privacy in determining how to manage that share, often resulting in the anomalies listed. My greater concern is that the IRS has been under attack, its resources constrained, and articles like this give those who DO want to coddle the rich, ammunition that the IRS cannot be trusted. Pro Publica does not acknowledge that likely collateral damage from its publication.
