Another hard-hitting report from Allum Bokhari who has been covering NewsGuard's unfortunate rise to gatekeeping power. This article covers the recently announced partnership between NewsGuard and Microsoft's web browser Edge. This partnership might make sense to some at Microsoft who are looking to promote themselves as doing something to address content credibility, but in this case, the team is either complicit in supporting this centralized approach to media ratings or simply did not do their homework when trying to understand how the rating mechanism works and who's behind it.
