Stupéfiant! A masterwork of investigative journalism. And again I'll note, from one of the best in the business. Exemplary sourcing anchors the piece like lead weights. The Author's rapier-like inquisition in to the referenced subject matter is not to be trifled with. This is reporting of the highest order. More cannot really be said other than, Bravo! An absolute must read. Five stars!
And, as a shameless plug for the work done by Credder, let me just say that it is first order of magnitude journalism such as this which is to be encouraged.

Speculation

Heavy speculation here, concrete evidence is thin, twitter as a source is problematic, and there are no concrete links to tie this activity to the Trump administration at any point in the piece. The narrative is strong in this one.

This is a deep, context-rich dive into the media and Trump administration's strategic attempt to paint COVID-19 as a Chinese lab-grown virus. The article touches on the reports that initiated the theory, the journalists regurgitating the theory, the Trump administration's motivations to promote the theory, and how this story relates to the now infamous propaganda about Iraqi WMDs. Very well researched and put together.
