Sensational
While the article has its moments it nevertheless comes across as a fairly one-sided screed. It checks the necessary boxes of commentary, links, quotes, and cursory counterposing opinion, but never quite reaches escape velocity to break free of its tabloid sensationalism. One gets the sense that the Author is trying but ultimately though he fails to engender anything more than a louche, lurid, and voyeuristic piece of work. Now, there is no denying the appeal that this type of reporting has for some, in the main however, this is not a worthwhile read.

Stacking the Deck

Stacking the Deck
I actually think this article is well written but it does claim that all 4 women were/are scientologists as well and then doesnt offer any sources from Masterson's camp to defend him. There is one quote from him and then the rest of the article seems to be stacking the deck against him. Again- everything written seems reasonable but it is definitely one sided. It's fairly obvious that Masterson is a scumbag based on other articles written about him but it's important to be vigilant for character assassination pieces. Very torn on this because I dont want to defend him, but it's important to be fair and balanced.

Balanced
This article maintains a good balance by properly referring to these as allegations and by including a quote from Masterson himself, all while outlining the legal situation. There is one glaringly obvious question that seems to be missing from the piece, "Is Danny Masterson a Scientologist?" Without clarifying this, I'm left confused as to why so many of his past girlfriend are themselves Scientologists and why the Church of Scientology is involved in the suit. My guess is that he is, but that should have been stated at the top for context.
